How to disable the table Audit record in Production

Last Updated: Apr 13, 2016 05:56PM PDT
Query:
We are getting an error in production on a write trigger of sod_det. We would like to disable au_sod_det.p programs. Can I just set the tableaudit of au_sod_det to active = no or do I have to set the Audit event active = no also. Also do I need to bounce the .net services after I change the active flags?

Resolution:
Changing the audit event to Active = No would turn off all audit trail programs. If that is what you want to do, that is the only step required. The Active flag in the individual auditinit records has no
effect. If you want to turn off only the sod_det audit trail, you would have to do one of the following:
Remove sod_det from your audit trail definitions and regenerate. This would typically be done for a permanent change, although you could subsequently put the same definitions back in and generate again later. For a temporary change, you could comment out all of the code in the audit_sod_det.p program. Then you could revert back by just uncommenting the code.

In any of these scenarios you would need to restart services, since the audit trail programs run at startup of the connection pool sessions.
